A RUSSIAN cop has been charged over the gang rape of a teenage student at a London college.
An 18-year-old girl was allegedly drugged and then filmed while being assaulted by seven Russian men, including intelligence officer Oleg Vladimirvich Ivanov, 23.
The attack is said to have happened early on Sunday during a party among English language students at prestigious Bellerbys College in Greenwich, South London.
Police retrieved iPhones with harrowing footage of the Malaysian victim being raped by a succession of men. Ivanov is one of four Russians charged with rape. He appeared at Woolwich Magistrates' Court yesterday with Gregory Andreev Melnikov, 22, who was also charged with attempted rape.
On Tuesday Norayr Davtyan, 25, and Arnen Simonay, 26, appeared at the same court charged with rape. All four were remanded in custody to appear at Woolwich Crown Court on February 1.
They all claim to be students, but well-informed sources say Ivanov worked in the Intelligence Section of the Moscow Police.
Two more Russians have been arrested over the alleged rape and bailed. Another was held and released without charge. Ivanov had only been in the UK for a week before the alleged gang rape. He told other students he planned to go to university here. A source said: "He was quite up front for someone working in intelligence."
A source said last night: "The incident was horrific. Mobile phone footage has been recovered that clearly shows the girl to be under the influence of drugs."
The victim is said to have raised the alarm after staggering into a friend's room. The source said: "She is distraught. She is very young and it is believed she was given a drug before being defiled."
